I attended a concert here once before with my sister n law and we didnt feel welcome then either because of another usher lady... but, I decided to try it again at a normal service, assuming the lady was just "having a bad day" on that day because we all have those. But now, same issue again just with my husband and son this time. To be honest I'm So sad and hurt by this situation.
This church has awesome ministers that brings forth an awesome word from the Lord. The choirs are amazing. I totally enjoy myself when I attend this church. My brother has been a member here for many years.
The word was good... but from a visitors prospective we got a bad vibe. We didn't feel welcome with our son at all. The thing is, my husband and I grew up in the church and thats the opportunity were trying give our child. When we entered because we had our son (15month old) the host lady was already expecting him to be "trouble" (you could see it in her face)... i've heard that the church was against children being in the audience making any noise. But, i wanted to see 1st hand. So, our son was clapping when the church clapped ...he said yayyy... because he saw others saying yayyy. And towards the end of service, the host lady/usher comes over to us and says, "it's almost over but you know there's a place in the back that you can take your child so that he doesn't interrupt service or distract people from getting the word". Mind u, he wasnt loud or anything... he was honestly better than he's EVER been in church before and we werent even in the sanctuary but rather the overflow area. That was beyond offensive and it definately "boiled my blood." Especially as a guest!!! If my child cannot come in the church...and feel welcome (even seated in the overflow area) then I'm not welcome. I want him to know what it's like to sit in church and get the word... grow up in church... not play in the back while i worship. And Children are our future, why not train them up as such!!! Unfortunately we will not return due to this unfortunate issue. There's no reason IN GODS HOUSE we should have felt so unwelcome.
