I made three (3) scheduled visits to an Internal Medicine specialist. Although the doctor was great, the clinic is completely mismanaged. I experienced excessively long wait times ( about 3 hours each time) and the staff members were completely indifferent to my concerns. For example, I had medical records transferred there and not one of five clinic staff would assist me in locating the records. When enrolled as a patient, I furnished the telephone number for my mail order pharmacy. I have one of the largest health plans in the country (Federal Blue Cross) and pharmacy coverage through CVS/Caremark, yet when I furnished the phone number on my card the clerk apparently made an attempt to enter it into their computer and then told me to get another number because the computer "didn't take" the one I gave her. My pharmacy plan has kept the same phone number for many years, despite changes in provider, yet it was apparently not the clinic's job to find out how to contact therm. And, they will not give written prescriptions. I live way out in the country and would like to have paper prescription to take to a pharmacy I could get to. The Internal Medicine Clinic at Boice-Willis schedules appointments approximately every 15 or 20 minutes for a doctor (Shiver) who takes approx. 45 to see each patient. That is poor clinic management, and although the practice manager has told me she is "sorry" on at least two occasions, nothing ever improves. If you want medical care, go to a clinic where the staff is competent, because you spend most of you time with staff, not the physician. You could die of old age waiting to see the doctor

Don't waste your time or money!! After it too forever to get an appointment with the neurologist Dr. Pajeau, the front desk associates are very rude. I was quoted a price at the CONCLUSION of my visit but received a bill for a total different amount. I was told that my visit was complex. Crazy part is she only gave me refills of current medications. We discussed nothing new and mind you this was on a Friday just before lunch and she rushed out of the room. She said she had somewhere to be and something else to do and see my way out. Fast forward... I called back to question the charges and the billing department argued with me and transferred me back to the neurology receptionist. She was very impatient and had an attitude that I asked about the bill. She said she'd get the nurse to call me back and i ask will it be the same day and she said "yes" Nonetheless I got a call the next afternoon from the nurse and he was very patient and apologized. He said he was given the information that morning (the next day) and he called me as soon as he reviewed my records. Crazier part is some of the codes that Dr. Pajeau put on my chart neither him nor I knew what they were but b/c she put it down there was nothing he could do about it and offered payment arrangements. I have never had this issue out of this office and even when I didn't have insurance I paid out of pocket just b/c I felt she was helpful. I never know how money hungry she was. I absolutely refuse to go back and advise to cancel ALL future appointments. They will not get another dime of my money. If you have money to throw down the drain and like horrible customer service then this is the place for you. I just want what i paid for! Hope this helps someone from getting cheated!! Look SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Shorter wait time without appt.

I love my dr. he is very nice . he is very good with kids. I think very highly of him . he is the reason I want to further my life long goal as a pediatrician . to the best doctor I've know Dr. Paul kinard

As any Rocky Mount clinic there is no respect for the patient. I will not mention any names but my first and last visit, which was last month, was the worst ever! When I complained and respectively requested a different doctor, they said they can not assist me (doctors are leaving). When checking my portal to see if they will at least fill my needed medications for a while, they DROPPED the portal! Well, that's the wonderful service we get from Rocky Mount, NC. Oh I paid my bill so there is no need to assist me at all apparently.
