Horrible hospital. It has really gone down hill. I'm in a room right now. The very basics for patients care are not provided. I arrived by ambulance at 7:24 am, marked urgent. Did not see a dr until almost 11 am, laying in severe pain up until then because nothing could be done until I saw the dr. No water, nothing. I suffer with chronic pain and Fibromyalgia. They do not have the basics for pain control available. No heat packs, I was able to get (1) in 3 1/2 hours in the er. They do not have them once you are admitted. Almost 24 hours later finally found out they did have ice packs. I screamed and cried the whole time my ultrasound was done, yet the tech noted "patient was not in pain". I don't blame the nurses, it seems that corners are being cut everywhere they can be. If I'm ever in this position again, I will have the ambulance head away from Nash county. This is a shame because I have stood up for Nash general when friends and neighbors said to go to Raleigh or Wake Forest.
First, thanks to Dr. Husain and the cardio cath team for saving my life. Secondly, the cardio rehab team did an amazing job over the 36 sessions I attended. The ladies there are caring, kind and very professional.
I honestly wish I could give it 0 stars. I came in at 4:05 pm in the beginning stage of DKA (Diabetic ketoacidosis). It’s 10:06 pm and I’ve yet to see a doctor. Last time I was in DKA I almost died.
I would like to commend Nash Hospital for the wonderful care they gave my husband during his stay in September-October 2017. The 4th floor nursing staff was the best I have ever worked with (I worked in healthcare a few years ago.) My husband was treated so well and the staff was pleasant and always responded to any concerns we may have had about his care. The hospitalists were phenomenal and Dr. Kamran Lateef was quite personable and made my husband's stay very comfortable. Dr. Laura Jacimore and her Nash Cancer Treatment Center Team are the best I have seen in a long time (Yes, even better than the teams I have worked with at Duke.). Dr. Jacimore truly cares about her patients and the way she treats them helps them tolerate their treatments much more easily. I have been a patient at Nash General and both of my grandchildren were born in that hospital. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants good healthcare. I also want to mention that Dr. Boyette, the Nash Hospice Medical Director, is the most compassionate hospice medical director I have ever known. I will never forget all the kind words he shared with me and I will never forget my visit with him. Nash Health Care Systems UNC is a wonderful facility and I am so proud that we have it available in our area.
Sitting in ER room #16 with my wife and this room appears to be used as an isolation room at times. I have noticed there's dust coming out of the supply vent in this room and it looks like this has been an issue for several months with the build up on the wall and ceiling tiles. I'm concerned that this room has not been terminally cleaned properly and i pray my wife doesn't get infected while in this room. I highly recommend this room be terminally cleaned properly top to bottom.
